Been Turn IN-SIDE-OUT
this morning i went to school as usual at 6am to get some of my photocopied certificate to be sign from the principle which later on turns out to be unnecessary thing to do. *
so lame* then i call up my father to pick me from school to the so-call immigration place. which later on turns out to be the wrong place. *
another so lame* . Li hong and Yek Suan followed my car too.
i went there for my interview for the AFS students exchange program which i had apply few months ago. the letter that we receive stated clearly that it starts from
8am to 5pm (have to be in for all times). i reach there before 8am and the others are already there waiting. we met Sebastian and Amelia there. which are the heads of St.Joseph Miri. *wow* Sebastian was an old friend of mind which we know each other starting from primary 4 i guess. about 8 years already. he and Amelia are also an AFS candidates for USA. *phew and wow* surprise to know. anyway, we, meaning me, Amanda, Sebastian talked a little about the old days. and they actually laugh at me AGAIN with the same joke which is like almost a decade ago (7 years ago).
ORANGE JUICE CHEESE CAKEhaha. funny. >.< >
is this the test for our passion??? if it is, we surely pass it alright! then we were asked to go in to the conference room i guess. then we met the black guy who is a AFS volunteer. (i copied this from Sebastian, as he call them black guy and white guy in his diary) and he talk to us a little bit. then join in the white guy, which is from the education department. then the
interview started. finally around 9am.
guess who is the lucky number one?too bad its not me. =p its
Basil, a form 3 guy form my school. the shortest guy among us and is a trens lover. everyone wish him luck, and in he goes and was in there about 20min. when he came out everyone started to ask him what question they ask and stuff. he said they actually asked about all those menteri-menteri of our country and how much ypu know about your country and stuff. everyone was shock to know that menteri-menteri are asked. lolzzzz.... like anyone cares who are they... and there name are freaking long and hard to memorize. then i don't remember which one was my turn, but it was kinda at the front. 3rd or 4th. something like that. but i know i went in at 10.15am. haha....
someone came in and said,
VINCENT, YOUR NEXT!i had to wait outside the door for like a few min. because, the black guy was taling on the phone. which when i know the door and open it, the white guys wave at me and signal me to wait 1st and i saw the black guy talking on his hp. then i waited outside, and trying to get myself together. that few min was like forever!!!! man!!! why do they have to toucher me like that. Amelia actually walked out and saw me, and wish me luck and kinda bless me. i was praying to god, asking for wisdom and his guidens. the finally the door is open, and i walked in.
the 1st thing went into my eyes was there is a table in front, and the black guy is sitting at the left hand side, and the white guy is sitting at the right hand side. there is a chair, nothing eles but a chair infront of them. and that is the place i will be sitting when i am interview. it was like so far from the table. i put down my file of certificates on the table and sat down. the the black guy who was kind outside and had turn into a devil in there starting to ask question and stuff. not like the others, they had been asked on the ministers but i was asked on music. because, in my 1st answer i actually said that i want to study music over there. that why i choose Italy as my 1st choice and Gemany as my 2nd choice. then we started the topic on music. and as i explain the reason why and so ford and so ford. i can know that he dont have any music background at all. which is kinda a good thing for me. so i touched on Baroque period, classical period, romance period, contemporary, jazz..... and he actually asked,
aint Baroque classical?this is where the place i can really comfirm that he have no music background at all.. GOOD....XD hahaha.... i said,
NO, its a period before classical, and romance is after classical.he kinda don't have anything to ask about it anymore. so it was the white guy's turns. he asked me why i deserve to go for this program? what will the host government benefits form you? what will you share with your host family? what will you tell about your country to your host family? what place would you introduce to them in sarawak? they are trying to turn me
IN-SIDE-OUTthat is a mouth-full of tricky question.
HARD and
TRICKY ones. i was actually criticize at the end for the last question. he asked what place would you introduce to your host family? i said in miri we have Miri Jazz Festival and there is a
rain forest............ err........
music festival. *was thinking hard, more to hesitating* because i can surely answer the stupid rain forest music festival, which i already kinda get it correct.. lolzzzzzz then he said that it wont be nice if you are not sure about your own country and the place you are from. and bla bla..... come to the end (now) i think that was more to an advice then a criticize.
i would rank myself,
2 out of 10
for this interview. i sucked it almost everything..... =(
so after around 20min, i finish my interview and took my file and ready to go out. then he asked me to call the next candidate. guess who is next?
Sebastian Lim! cool huh..... hahaha
then after that it is pure bordem to wait for the others to finish their interview. Amelia and Li Hong was actually quite nervous abot the interview. but they still have to wait for thir turn. and poor Li Hong told me she don't want to be the last one to be interview right from the beginning and it turns out she was the last one to be interviewed. she had to skip her launch. poor thing.... i should have call her again to offer to "da bao" (take away) her launch.
anyway. after everyone is interview. the black guy show us some so-called ASF video, which turns out to be powerpoint slides shows. haha... then there is the Q&A session. nothing special though. so we end early. we finish at about 4pm. its actually one hour ahead of the time. so i called my father to pick me up. and i went home around 4.45pm. then i shower and rest on my bed for a while.
WHAT A DAY!!!!!!thats kinda rapes up all, and sorry to have you guys read this boring long post about my stupid interview that i screw up everything. anyway, thank you guys for reading. comments are welcome in the post comments. have a nice day. and good night.
